In a truly devastating yet ultimately hopeful tale of survival, an abused and abandoned dog with a severe, life-threatening wound around its neck was rescued yesterday, and in a heart-wrenching moment, seemed to shed tears of relief as it was finally saved.
The incredible story unfolded in a deserted industrial area on the outskirts of Hanoi, where the brave animal was found clinging to life.
The discovery was made by a concerned animal lover, Mr. M, who was exploring the abandoned site. He was drawn by a weak whimper and, upon investigation, found a medium-sized dog huddled behind a pile of rubble.
The dog’s condition was horrific: a deep, festering wound encircled its neck, a clear sign of prolonged abuse, possibly from a tight chain or rope. It was clear the injury was life-threatening, and the dog was in immense pain.
"He was so scared, he wouldn't let me get close at first," Mr. M recalled, his voice heavy with emotion. "But there was something in his eyes... a desperation for help."
After several minutes of patient coaxing, Mr. M was able to approach the suffering animal. He gently gave it some water, which it drank with an urgency that spoke of severe dehydration.
